Plants from the heart of East Sussex

“To see the enjoyment that customers get from finding a choice plant and to hear of their garden successes is what keeps us nursery folk going.  We rarely get to see their gardens, but the joy of a new plant purchase is palpable.”

About Pelham Plants

Pelham Plants Nursery is owned by Paul Seaborne, who has been passionate about perennials for long enough to have stumbled across a good plant or two! Paul and colleagues at Pelham Plants have long been taking their plants out on the road to plant fairs and special garden events, but in 2020 they were delighted to open the nursery by appointment and the garden for group tours. Since then, the nursery and garden has grown from strength to strength, featured in various magazines and winning a silver medal at their first RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2023! The team at Pelham Plants strive to give you greater access to the plants they love!

Paul Seaborne has had a number of careers, but finally found a way to make his love of gardens into a way of life in his 40s. After working for a number of inspirational Sussex nurseries, including Pure Plants and Marchants Hardy Plants, he finally decided to focus on his beautiful home garden and nursery and on his work at plant fairs.

Paul says, “To finally get to devote myself entirely to the challenge of my own nursery has been long coming… I have absolutely loved my time working at great nurseries, but you are only ever a visitor in a foreign land and can never really feel at home. I had to grasp the opportunity to create my own haven, and fully indulge my passion for plants, for the nursery life and for my own garden.

I look forward to seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones, almost as much as I look forward to finding new plants!”

Thank you for supporting our traditional, independent nursery.  We look forward to helping you enjoy your garden!
